Options- Voice tab
This tab contains all the settings for the speech synthesizer and conversion to audio books.
- Voice Synthesizer: The box from which you choose the type of synthesizer to use. The type of synthesizer can be: "Eloquence / IBM Viavoice Outloud"; "Microsoft Sapi 5.1"; "Microsoft OneCore". The voice synthesizers are available separately from third-party resellers. Next to this box is the Settings button, which will be used to configure the type of synthesizer chosen in detail;
- File creation: The box where you choose how you want to create your audio files. For more information, please read the appropriate help;
- Silence start / end: field in which you choose the initial and final digital silence that each audio file must have. The value is expressed in milliseconds. For example, if a value of 500 is entered, each file will start and end with half a second of silence;
- Pause Blank Line: field to select whether each blank line in the document should be converted to a pause. The value is expressed in milliseconds. For example, if you set a value of 250 ms, when the conversion to audiobook encounters an empty line, such as at the end of a chapter, it pauses for a quarter of a second. If there are several contiguous empty lines, the pauses add up, up to a maximum of two seconds;
- Add initial title: If this box is activated, a title describing the content of each audio file is added at the beginning of the file. The title to be added can be customized using the mask field;
- Title Mask: Box where you can enter the title to be used at the beginning of each audio file. Variables can be used in this field. The variables are contained in the contextual menu associated to the field;
- Create M3U playlist: If this box is activated and you create multiple audio files of the document, a playlist file will also be created containing the complete playback sequence;
- Add Id3Tag information: If this box is activated, useful information is added to some MP3 players in the audio files;
- Audible signal at the end of the reading: if this box is activated, a short audible signal indicating the end of the reading is added at the end of each file;
- Automatically remove hyphens: during the conversion from text to audio, Biblos removes any hyphens from the words on the fly;
- Bit-rate quality: Box from which you choose the bit-rate quality of your MP3 files. The lower the value, the lower the audio quality. With low quality, the file size decreases. Usually, for audio book creation, a bit-rate of 48 kbit is sufficient;
- Processor Engagement - You can choose how busy the CPU should be during audio conversion. A minimum commitment usually pays off;
- File Name Mask: This field allows you to set how the audio files are to be named. In this field variables contained in the associated contextual menu can be used;
- Replacement Type: This box is used to choose how to apply the substitutions to the synthesised or converted text. The replacements are managed from the window in the menu Voice. You can also choose to apply character transliterations. The transliterations available are those for Greek and Cyrillic characters;
- Initial comment: This field is where you can enter an introductory comment that is summarized at the beginning of each audio file.
