The Notes tab

These tabs contain settings for transcribing Braille notes. These settings can only be stored in the open document, or in the chosen configuration profile, i.e. maintained as settings for any uploaded document.

There are three types of notes: End of page notes; End of document notes; End of title notes.

End of page notes are usually printed at the beginning of the page following the one where they appear. Biblos allows you to print them in other modes as well. The tab has the following fields.

- Reference: mask for printing the note reference that appears in the document. You can use the %NN variable that is replaced by the note number;

- Description: Mask that appears next to the text of the note. Also here the variable %NN can be used, which is replaced by the actual number of the note.

- Transcription: box where you choose when and where to print the note. Several choices are available:

a. Immediate: the note is printed immediately after the paragraph in which the reference appears;

b. End of Page: The note is printed at the bottom of the page. If there are several notes, the program tries to print them at the bottom of the page. If there is no space at the bottom of a page to print one or more notes, the notes are printed at the bottom of the next page;

c. New page: Notes are always printed at the top of the page following the page where the reference appears;

d. New sheet: The note is always printed at the beginning of the sheet following the one where the reference appears;

e. New File: All notes are grouped and printed at the end of the document. Choosing this option the Title field is used to give a title to the file with the notes.

- Numbering: This box allows you to choose with which Braille numbering to print the note numbers. The default numbering is the numbering with which the note appears on the screen;

- Indicator: Next to the note, a braille character can be printed at the left or right edge to indicate that the note is present. These are the choices:

a. None: No indicator is printed;

b. Document (left or right): the indicator cell is printed on the document line where the reference appears;

c. Note (left or right): The indicator cell is printed only in the text line of the first note on the page;

d. Document and note (left or right): The indicator cell is printed both in the reference line and in the description of the first note on the page;

e. All notes (left or right): Indicator cells are printed in the descriptions of all notes on the page;

f. All (left or right): Indications are printed in the lines where the reference appears and in all page note descriptions.

- Code: The braille code to be used for the display cell;

- Separator - you can choose to separate the note descriptions from the document text with a separator line. Depending on the type of note transcription, the separator may appear before and/or after the description of the notes;

- Continuation: this box is used to select how the program is to continue printing the text of the document after printing the description of the notes;

- Title: field where you can enter a title that will be used as the title of the end of document notes book;

- Alignment: the alignment of the title.
