The Tables tab
This tab contains options for braille printing of tables. These settings can only be stored in the open document, or in the chosen configuration profile, i.e. maintained as settings for any uploaded document.
- Transcription of table: box where you can choose the transcription mode. A table can be organized in four ways:
One column per line" prints the table horizontally column by column, placing only one cell per braille line (y1x1 / y1x2 / y2x1 / y2x2);
All columns per line" prints the table horizontally column by column, placing the cells of each row in sequence in the braille line (y1x1 y1x2 / y2x1 y2x2);
One row per line" prints the table vertically line by line, placing each cell in a braille line (x1y1 / x1y2 / x2y1 / x2y2);
All rows per line" prints the table vertically line by line, placing the cells of each column in sequence in the braille line (x1y1 x1y2 / x2y1 x2y2);
- Separator: This field is used to select whether to print table separation lines. Separation lines are printed at the beginning and end of the table;
- Indicator: A field where you can choose whether to mark tables, rows or columns, with an indicator cell printed in the available space on the left or right edge. This field is followed by the Code field, where you can enter the Braille code that is used as an indicator cell;
- Initial Descriptor: A field where you can enter a initial description for tables. Variables can be used in this field. The available variables are contained in a contextual menu associated with the field, which can be opened by pressing the Applications key or by right-clicking on it. Leaving this field blank does not cause any description line to be printed;
- Final Descriptor: A field where you can enter a final description for tables. Variables can be used in this field. The available variables are contained in the contextual menu associated to the field, which can be opened by pressing the Applications key or by right-clicking on it. Leaving this field blank does not cause any description line to be printed;
- Empty Cell Text: Text used to replace empty table cells;
- Do not print empty cells: when this box is activated, the empty cells of the tables are not printed;
- Add numbering to columns: If this box is activated, the relevant position number is added before each column;
- Add row numbering: If this box is activated, the relevant position number is added before each line;
- Print end non-uniform columns: If this box is checked, any non-uniform columns in the table are printed after the portion of uniform columns;
- Reset to general values: this button resets the table settings to the general values of the loaded profile.
The printing of table rows and columns is also influenced by the prefixes contained in each Braille table. You can configure prefixes and suffixes that mark the beginning and/or end of each column and row in a braille table.
